How can environmental review work better for you?

We'd like to hear from you! Whether you've petitioned for review or served as a Responsible Governmental Unit, your perspective can help us continuously improve the way that environmental review makes usable information available to decision-makers and the public.

How to participate: Submit your idea by clicking on the short survey below. Please describe your idea and explain why it matters (what problem it is trying to solve). If you have multiple ideas, please submit each idea separately. Your submittal is anonymous unless you decide to share your email. Submittals should only take a few minutes.

Please submit feedback by noon on May 1, 2026.

What kind of improvements are we considering? Improvements must pertain to Minnesota's Environmental Review Program rules and procedures. This includes forms, guidance, rules, reports, data management, and more. Ideas related solely to project permitting or enforcement are out of scope. EQB collated previously-submitted ideas and will re-score them this year. For information on re-submittals, see the FAQ section on this page.

What happens to my idea after I submit it? EQB staff assess ideas against the Environmental Review Program "criteria of effectiveness" which includes criteria for information gathering, engagement, and process efficiency. Ideas provided in this continuous improvement forum are considered for EQB's future workplan.

What's EQB working on right now? You do not need to re-submit an idea if it pertains to one of the EQB's current environmental review projects:

  • Researching how to best incorporate health impacts into environmental review
  • Guidance and training updates: hosting webinars for practitioners, developing best practices for working with Tribes, etc.
  • Updating the EAW form for inclusivity, clarity, and accessibility (no major content changes)
  • Launching and improving the climate calculator tool with a user's manual and updated climate guidance
